Relation of the Things of Yucatan

Relación de las cosas de Yucatán (Relation of the Things of Yucatan) appeared around 1566. It is a reference work to understand the Mayan world. Diego de Landa devoted himself to the study of that culture. Landa found similarities between Christianity and the Mayan religion regarding human sacrifices and blood offerings and associated these offerings with the sacrificial character of the figure of Christ who had given his life for humanity.
