Noli Me Tangere

Noli Me Tangere is the most famous text by José Rizal. In 1887 Rizal published his novel about nineteenth-century Philippine society in the midst of his political activity and pretended to denounce the excesses of the Spanish government and its religious institutions through a story about prevailing social classes, love, and the historical reflection. Rizal himself was shot at the hands of that society.
