History of the Chichimec Nation

Historia de la nación Chichimeca (History of the Chichimec Nation) was completed around 1640 by Fernando de Alva Cortés Ixtlilxochitl. The title is credited to Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora who was the owner of the Manuscript. Lorenzo Boturini, another owner of the original, called it «Historia general de la Nueva España». There is evidence that «Historia de la nación Chichimeca» was part of a larger text that has been lost or perhaps was not completed. The final chapter relates the Tenochtitlan Site, from the Texcocan version of the Conquest promulgated by the author; in contrast to Hernando de Alvarado Tezozómoc, author of «Ascendencia Tenochcaalso» (also published by Linkgua) whose work shows a vision closer to the Mexicas.
In 1891 Alfredo Chavero published and commented on the books of Ixtlilxóchitl with the title of «Obras históricas» (Historical Work).
