La vuelta de Martín Fierro was published by José Hernández in 1879 in Argentina and continues the saga of the already famous Martín Fierro.
In this second part, the author completes some unknowns of the first part and resolves situations that had been pending, such as the fate of the two sons of Fierro and the meeting of Picardy, son of Cruz, who sings to those present with a peculiar style, the story of his life.
The Return of Martín Fierro is richer in episodes and characters than the first. One of them, the Old Vizcacha, whose advice puts a unique color to the narrative.

Martin Fierro

1
Attention I ask for silence
and silence to attention,
I’m going on this occasion,
If my memory helps,
to show them that to my story 5
He lacked the best.

One comes as if asleep
when he returns from the desert,
I’ll see if I explain myself correctly
among such bizarre people, 10
and if when feeling the guitar
From my dream I wake up.

I feel my chest trembling,
that my reason is troubled,
and from La Vigüela to the son 15
I implore the soul of a sage
May I come to move my lip
and encourage my heart.

If I don’t get to thirty-one
of fixed in thirty I plant, 20
and this confidence advanced
for I received in myself,
with the water of baptism,
It empowers her to sing.

Both the poor and the rich 25
the reason must be given to me;
and if they hear
which I will explain in my own way,
I say that not everyone should laugh,
Some have to cry. 30

A lot has to tell
the one who had to suffer,
And I will begin by asking,
Do not doubt what I say;
for the witness must be believed 35
if they don’t pay for lying.

I thank Our Lady,
I thank the Lord,
Because in the meantime rigor
and having lost so much, 40
I didn’t lose my love of singing
nor my voice as a singer.

Let every living person sing
bestowed by the Eternal Father,
sing all that fits him 45
as we both do,
for he alone has no voice
the being that has no blood.

Sing the village… and is pueta;
The gaucho sings… and woe Jesus! 50
They look at it like an ostrich
their inoravity amazes them;
but the shadows always serve
to distinguish light.
