The Conspiracies in Cuba of 1810 and 1812, is an anthology by José Luciano Franco that shows the events that occurred in Cuba after the revolts in Haiti, as part of the independence process of black Cubans. The conspiracies related here happened during the government of the Marquis of Someruelos, and after being discovered provoked trials and death sentences of their leaders.
This volume contains documents from the General Archive of the Indies and the National Archive of Cuba, which describe the trials of the members of the conspiracies, in addition to showing how José Antonio Aponte, with his “Book of Paintings”, denies the “official” story telling it from his point of view.
