IA-Libris Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement

By using our API, IA-Libris, you agree to these Terms and Conditions of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

2. Description of Service

IA-Libris is an Augmented Reading tool designed to manage knowledge. It uses OpenAI technology to extract named entities and relate content, as well as to display YouTube videos through its API. This tool is designed to improve the user’s ability to manage and leverage knowledge through the presentation of relevant and personalized information.

3. Disclaimer

3.1 OpenAI

IA-Libris uses OpenAI technology, but we are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with OpenAI, or any of its subsidiaries or its affiliates. Content processed and presented through the OpenAI API is the responsibility of OpenAI, and we have no control over its quality, completeness, or accuracy. Our service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis and we are not responsible for any content displayed through the OpenAI API.

3.2 YouTube

IA-Libris uses the YouTube API to display videos and respects its Terms and Services. However, we are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with YouTube, or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. For the use of this and any other API developed by Google we also adhere to their Privacy Policies. We are not responsible for any YouTube content displayed through our API. In addition, we only store YouTube videos viewed through our API in cache for 30 days, after which they are removed from our database. We are not responsible for the availability, quality or content of YouTube videos, nor for any changes or removal of videos by YouTube.

4. Obligations of the User

By using IA-Libris, you agree to comply with all terms and conditions set forth by OpenAI and YouTube. You can find OpenAI’s Terms of Service here and YouTube’s Terms of Service here.

5. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless our company, its affiliates, and their respective directors, employees and agents, from and against any and all claims, actions, demands, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, debts and expenses (including but not limited to attorneys’ fees) arising from: (i) your use of and access to our service; (ii) your violation of any term of this Agreement; (iii) your violation of any third party right, including but not limited to any copyright, property, or privacy; (iv) any claim that one of your User Content caused harm to a third party.

6. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide you with at least 30 days’ notice before the new terms take effect.

7. IA-Libris API Privacy Policy. Information We Collect

7.1. Institutional Information

We collect information specific to your institution, such as a unique customer ID for your entire institution and unique login information. This information is necessary to provide you with access to our API and to administer your account. We do not collect any personal information from individuals who use the service under your institution’s account.

7.2. How We Use Your Information to Provide and Improve Our Services

We use your institution’s information to provide you with access to our services and to help us improve them. We may use usage information to better understand how our services are used and to improve functionality and user experience.

7.3. We do not sell your information

We do not sell or share your institution’s information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

7.4 Information Security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of your information. These measures include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and physical and electronic security measures.
