First digital books in NFT in Spain

Linkgua publishes first copies of unique books via blockchain technology

16-November-2021. First NFT digital books are born in Spain

The first book published in Spain in limited digital edition is Paradiso by Cuban writer José Lezama Lima. A total of 50 unique copies of this first NFT edition will be published at a price of 100 euros. It is a commitment of the Linkgua Ediciones in the application of technology that will be extended in a collection of books in NFT. It is the first to be made by a publishing house in Spain.
The NFT is the acronym for non-fungible token. It is a kind of encryption for works of art or unique digital objects to ensure that they are unique, indivisible, transferable and capable of proving their scarcity.
This project introduces, for the publishing world, a system that is already used for digital works of art and that ensures the authenticity of the pieces and their unique value through a digital certificate. Just a few weeks ago the auction agency Christie’s managed to sell for 69 million dollars one with the digital artwork Everydays-The First 5000 Days by Mike Winkelman, better known as Beeple. It is the third most expensive work of art at this famous auction house by a living author.
Linkgua wanted to guarantee its readers the opportunity to obtain the first copies in NFTs. And make sure that any resale of the books protects copyrights and publishers. The future of publishing has in this system a course to preserve the rights of the chain of creation and distribution of books. Linkgua wants to lay the first stone of that future that is already almost a reality.

Paradiso, the first work in NFT

Among the first digital books in NFT in Spain. It is a novel written by José Lezama Lima in 1966 by one of the most recognized authors of Cuban literature. It was banned on the island on charges of disseminating dark and pornographic content. A work framed in the Latin American baroque, already a classic. It tells the story of Cuban history in a landscape that moves between poetry, narrative and the spirituality of the author himself. A perfect gift for this Christmas!
